Is Achilles the hero of The Iliad? why or why not.?

Achilles was no hero as only the Gods knew there was a way to kill him. To all he fought and to his own knowledge, he was an invulnerable killer off whom spear and sword would slide past. That is not a hero, it is a murderous killer.
