"Driver Igfx stopped working and has sucessfully restarted"?

Sometimes, when I am playing games (civ 4, Counterstrike, Command and Conquer 3), the game freezes, the screen turns black, and the game stops for a few seconds and then starts working again. Can anyone tell me why this happens?
