Good types of fireworks?

I'm interested in fireworks, but im not really sure what they are. They sell giant packs at a store near me but they're usually smoke bombs, party poppers, sparklers, etc. Then i saw some things that you stick into the ground and they look like rockets. Are those fireworks? If so, what are some good brands? I think the ones i saw were iron wolf.
